yup, because quite frankly if either the father-in-law or the wife had a brain in their heads, they would have realized that 'molding him into a proper successor' is alot less important than the husband's happiness.

i guess the poor husband never thought, 'well this is shit. my wife hates me, my father-in-law hates me, and i'm tired of being the center of all this hate and domestic abuse. so i'll just divorce her, quit my job, and they can both go to hell!'

because that's what a rationally thinking adult would do... not concoct some fake kidnapping to murder somebody.

Such a toxic family environment, I’m not sure if the father-in-law actually loves him or knows what love is.
